June Challenge Begins!

Wow, it’s June 1st already! If you read my last post, you know what that means… Time to get a ton of writing done!

In my last post I made an error when I said I needed to write 3,000 words a day. Anyone with a third grade education would tell you that would only get me 90,000 words this month. I actually need to write 4,000 words per day! That extra thousand may seem like a trivial number, but I assure you, over the stretch of the month, it adds up to quite a bit (some might say it adds up to around 30,000).

In any case, this morning I created a Scrivener project just for my June writing so it would be easier to work on multiple projects and still accurately track my daily word counts. I really like the idea of keeping a monthly scrivener file, though I’m not sure how practical it would actually be to do it on a regular basis. It’s something I’ll have to consider going forward.

Okay, enough rambling from me. Here’s where we stand today…

Now it’s time to munch on my breakfast while I get my morning word count going.

Wish me luck this month, I’m going to need it! And don’t forget to check in on my Facebook page for more frequent updates throughout the month. I’ll be posting the above screenshot everyday over there to keep myself accountable, though I’ll only be blogging about my experience intermittently (these blog updates don’t count toward my overall word count!).

All the best,

Mat
