As some of you may know, for last year’s NaNoWriMo I completed 50,000 words in 24 hours on November 1st, 2013. This year, I repeated that feat, and I even managed to live stream most of it on Twitch.tv and then via Google Hangouts when Twitch started giving me problems. But this year, I decided to up the ante a bit, and I’m going to do the 50,000 word event again.
Actually, I’m not just going to do it one more time, I’m going to do it two more times!
The first of those is going to begin at midnight tonight… that’s less than 12 hours from now! The second will be on the 30th. The last day of the month. Just to motivate all of you Wrimos who may be slipping behind on your monthly goals.
Tonight’s event will be live streamed on Twitch.tv again. Hopefully this time we won’t have any technical issues like two weeks ago. If we do, then I will likely be quick to move the stream to a Google Hangout. Hopefully I should have everything setup and ready to go ahead of time for that move so it doesn’t take 90 minutes like it did, before.
(Seriously, there’s nothing worse than a 90 minute technical delay when you’re trying to write 50,000 words in 24 hours…)

I hope you can all stop by to cheer me on, leave me some words of encouragement, or just hang out. We’ll be doing some word sprints where you’ll probably see my friend Jessi humble me with her typing speed. You’ll probably also get to see me playing my guitar while wondering why my word count isn’t increasing, along with any number of my usual antics.
I also want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that has been supporting me so far this month. I’ll be nearly at 120,000 words on the month by the time this event is done, tying my biggest month ever. It wouldn’t have been possible without the likes of all of the other writers around me that keep pushing and motivating me.
Thank You! 🙂
And before I go, here’s the last 6 hours or so of the Day 1 event, via Google Hangout (one of the cool features of using the Hangout). Sorry for the confusion, I had no idea how to get the Hangout stream setup, and was frustrated that I had to figure it all out while trying to write 50,000 words… 🙂
